DanceLaura Murphy. Project: WunderbarLaura Murphy25001/09/2014
DescriptionWunderbar is a duet co-created and performed by dance artists Rob Heaslip and Laura Murphy in collaboration with composer Irene Buckley and dramaturge Ailish Claffey.

“Wunderbar explores a dependency to reach an equilibrium within human interactions.

By probing the conditions of harmony and conflict in partnerships we test the ideal of striving for stability.

Through a physical research of routine, dependency, tactile-responses and instinct we investigate the addictions of searching for balance. What happens if an attained equilibrium were to flinch, alter or break down?

Do we adapt, or do the partnerships fall apart?”
DanceCatherine Young Dance / Woman Stood RegardlessCatherine Young25001/09/2014
Description(Run time: 70 mins) | Ensemble work.
Woman Stood Regardless was inspired by true stories of remarkable women from a Kerry-based women’s support service. Through their intensely personal stories, Young and her all-female cast of four powerful international dancers, explore what the human condition can endure in a lifetime to find out what fuels us to keep going, to get back up when everything has fallen apart. Relentlessly physical with sinuous, sometimes violent choreography and a rawness and depth that will touch viewers, WSR looks for cracks to let the light in.
